YInformer is one of our flagship programs that help make this site fairly popular. YInformer is a Yahoo Messenger ID status checker that will return if any YM ID is online (even invisible) and/or if their webcam is being broadcasted. This program runs completely stealthed and the target ID has no idea they are being scanned. YInformer has primarily been used to see if your YM buddies are online (but invisible) but has expanded to any YM user, not just someone on your buddy list. YInformer has also been used to track cheating (or suspected of cheating) spouse/significant others.

As a service, we offer a World News section as well that will publish world, national, techical and special interest news. These news posts are generally written by others but we give them full credits and a link to the original post or where we found the story.

Mobile portal...

After keeping an eye on mobile stats on this site, I will be stopping the mobile version of our site. It is not generating any traffic to it so there is no need to maintain it anymore. I will take the mobile site down 2-27-10. This will affect the mobile.programmingsource.net and m.programmingsource.net domains. I apologize to those who do view our site on their mobile phones but it simply is not generating enough traffic to keep it going.

Lack of Updates

Sorry for the lack of updates on my end but in class we are preparing for the EPA certification. Without this certification, the training I am going through is useless, lol. I am still alive though! I have also been working on some other programs that will be for the HVAC field...I have been putting those off for too long as well. I do not have any major plans for YInformer at the moment, probably some code tweaking in the next few weeks and running some diagnostics on it. Some of you have been concerned about YInformer going "Buddy Spy" and dying out. I do not see that happening any time soon. So pending no major issues like a packet patching or complete login overhaul on Yahoo's end...it is still being slowly worked on.

Getting On Track!

Ok,Sorry about the delays i lost track of time as i am working on multiple projects at the same time,The biggest project is my php-fusion quest in writing new mods/themes,second time eater is running a small web design/hosting service in my small home town.Yes the 24/7/365 live support renders me useless..lol..Never the less i have re-opened the fusion theme "flames" and started finishing the CSS/and,Img. work on the theme,i am planning on a Jan.20.2010 release date.

Update: I'm currently looking into creating SWF based Fusion Themes,Ill post news soon!!

Sorry for the lack of updates, I have been fairly busy with life things and school. I am currently working on a program that is actually course specific and will not be released on this site. That program has consumed quite a bit of time. So far, I have 40 coding hours logged and its only about 60% completed, lol. I do have timeframe (that I set, not the school) to have it completed by March so that program is actually the top of my programming priority list.

I know some of you are experiencing some minor issues with YInformer and have submitted suggestions also...please be aware that I have not forgotten about you! I have been meaning to post this for a while but never got around to it. So I do apologize for lack of updating. As busy as I am, I will try to make more of an effort on at least keeping you all updated.

New VB6 Examples

I have made a couple more VB6 examples covering the following topics:

1. Load List from txt file - shows how you can have your app load a listbox from a text file that is either a hardcoded path or a user specified path.

2. MSFlexgrid Example - shows some basic functions of using the msflexgrid.ocx file with your vb6 app. It also shows how you can change the font to bold text, change cell bg color and even add an image into a cell.

3. Extended Timer - this still uses the default vb6 timer which only has a max of a little over 1 minute. However, by using a label caption and an if/then statement...you can make it as long as you want.

All of these are in the VB Related section of the downloads in the Examples sub category. Remember, you must have Microsoft Visual Basic 6 to see these. I can not guarantee them to open using Visual Studio or VB 2008 and up.

Our New Puppies...

The puppies are here! Our female is a 1 1/2 yr. old purebred 15" Beagle and the male is a 5 yr. old purebred 13" Beagle. This is her first litter and had 6 puppies, all of which survived.

YInformer build 4.0.135

I have released YInformer build 4.0.135 that has a couple features added and changes.

Changes include a 30 second timer delay from a Bot Error to rescanning (if continuous is selected). Previously, it used a hard coded system pause. Hopefully the timer delay will allow it to run smoother. I have also changed the auto update check from 10 minutes to 15 minutes to check for an active update.

Features include the ability to temporarily disable online sounds. By default, when you load YInformer, sounds will be enabled. You will also need to manually re-enable them should you disable them. For those using a continuous scan, when there is 1 minute left, I have added a little progress bar so you can see when it will scan again. You will only see this bar when there is 1 minute left. When it scans again, the bar will disappear until there is only 1 minute left again.

I may not be directly available should there be any issues with the update. I think our dog is going into labor with her pups and I may need to help her. If anyone is interested...she is a 1.5 year old 15" full blooded Beagle and its her first litter. The dad is a 5 year old 13" full blooded Beagle.
