Previously I had no problems using YBuddy, the last time I tried to use it nothing happened. I downloaded the updated version but the .dll didnt come with it. What do I do? |

YBuddy no longer needs the ylogin.dll file as its protocol has been updated to the latest. However, you need to make sure you have the winhttp.dll in your c:\windows\system32 folder. If it is there, you may need to register the file by clicking on Start-Run and type in (no quotes) "regsvr32 winhttp.dll" and hit OK. Once registered, try to login again to YBuddy and use it. |

I registered the winhttp.dll and YBuddy still isnt working. Im not getting an error message and when I log in the little smiley doesnt light up. I also tried cs102.msg.ac4.yahoo.com you put in a reply to a previous post and it still isnt working.

Have you installed YInformer? It uses the same login as YBuddy does. I am curious if YInformer will login for you or not. |

I installed YInformer, it didnt work. UPDATE.... I tried different login servers, and it seems to be working now. It started working on cs106.msg.ac4.yahoo.com and up, I then went back to mcs.msg.yahoo.com, it works there now too. Unfortunately YBuddy is still not working. You may need to try all the different login servers (found on YInformer) and use them on YBuddy and see if it logs in with any of them. If not, there is something blocking the traffic...try disabling any firewalls. There would be something on the pc not allowing the connection. |

YInformer is working great. As for YBuddy, I dont have a firewall, I also uninstalled my virus scanner just to make sure and YBuddy still didnt work. I tried all the login servers from YInformer on YBuddy and it is still not working. |

Hmm, both programs use the same login procedure. I just tested YBuddy and it logged in. Couple other options would be to: 1. Click Start - Run and type in regedit and hit OK. This will open the Windows registry. Navigate to the following path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\YBuddy Right click the YBuddy folder and delete it. Close the Windows registry and try running YBuddy again. 2. If you are running XP w/sp2 or Vista... Click Start - Run and type in cmd and hit OK. This opens a command windows. Now type in (no quotes) "netsh winsock reset" and hit Enter. Might take a moment but should say something like successfully reset winsock catalog and to reboot. Close the cmd window and restart the pc. Try YBuddy again. First item will "reset" the YBuddy registry to where you will have to re-enter the bot login again. Second item will clear/reset the computers winsock catalog. Hopefully one of these suggestions will work. Again, something is not allowing YBuddy to login somewhere. |

I do not believe this. The previous YBuddy I had I with the .dll I deleted I downloaded YBuddy again without the .dll, and now its working.Could that be the reason it wasnt working? |

Its hard telling what happened, lol. I think we would take more time trying to figure that out vs as long as it took to figure out we were both troubleshooting the wrong version, lol. |
