informer is nomore working for me. I de installed it and installed the newest version again. Package 1 is always showing "off-line" though my buddy is online.Package 2 is always showing the buddy on-line,though it is not. Only status of webcam is shown ok.I changed the server, but only got "bot error". the automatically login doesn´t work either, but I can live with it,if Informer would work well. " Default settings" didn´t fix it. What can I do else to make it work ok??????? ![]() |

What windows version are you using? What kind of connection? Are you running any antivirus programs, if so, which? Are you running any firewall? if so, which one? |

I am using windows Xp home SP 3 ( it´s the same version I have had on the PC before) Connection: Broadband ( the same as before too) Antivirus prog.:Kaspersky Firewall from Kaspersky too There is no change to the PC before and I added Yinformer to the trusted programs, opened all ports, which Yahoo is using. Informer doesn´t start automatically, though I activated it.And I noticed one more thing:When I start the program,it tries to connect, but I only get " bot error".When I go into the Bot login information,my ID and password is not there anymore. When I go back to scan and scan options (without giving in any ID or password)) and chose a buddy,it is checking, only not ok.There is no difference bitween giving in an ID and password or not.Strange, isn´t it.I hope you can understand what I write.I did my best, but didn´t grew up with your language |

What is happening, is my educated guess, is that your firewall even though you have added it as a trusted application, does not allow it to pass through. There are a few things I would recommend trying; 1. Make sure that Windows native firewall is disabled so that you are not running two firewalls. Right click on "My Computer" and select "Manage". Find "Services". Scroll down until you find "Windows Firewall". Right click on it. Select "Stop". Then right click and select "Properties". In Startup type select "Disabled", and then click on "Apply" and then "ok". You may have to reboot to make sure the firewall is not running at all anymore. Because even you have selected to not use the firewall that comes with windows, and the service is running, it is sometimes causing a lot of problems. 2. To verify that it is your firewall or even antivirus that might cause a problem due to an update (possibly finding yinformer as a virus); try disabling first the firewall portion of kaspersky (been a long time since I used that so I can not tell you step by step how to do it), then if that does not help. Try by disabling the antivirus protection too. But do not run without antivirus for long. This is only to troubleshoot the problem and find where the cause of the problem lies. 3. If it is a problem with the firewall or antivirus, you might have to manually create exception rules for yinformer (not yahoo messenger itself). |

thank you for advice. I did that all. I de activated the windows firewall. created an exception rule for Kaspersky ( though I always have had Kaspersky, and there was never a problem with Informer). I changed user name ect. It still doesn´t log in automatically.I have to click on "scan and scan option", then it will connect. Not a real problem. It doesn´t really matter to me. The problem, which still exsists is, that Informer still doesn´t scan right.Package1 is showing off-line, though buddy is on-line.Package 2 is showing all the time on-line, though buddy is off-line. I guess, cam is scanned right as far as I could see. Ichecked it all with a) another program and to make sure,I b) checked with another ID, I have ( NOT an alis). I hope, that somebody can help |

Aha, you are having the same problem as I do at the moment. It wont log in automatically. Any scans you try when it is not logged in will be false. I am trying to figure out why this is happening. My best guess is that yahoo has patched their servers in some way so that yinformer cant log on. |

I dont know, but I suspect they have done so again (patching). Because Yinformer can not log on att all for me now. It used to be able to after many attempts the last few days. Now it just sits there trying to log in. |

I'm having the same issue logging in as well. My firewall and antivirus program are disable. I've actively used Yinformer without error for months now. I'm receiving "Attempting login to Yahoo, please wait" and Bot Error. When I attempt to scan, my results are false as well. I began to notice this problem yesterday. I am assuming Yahoo has patched their server again as they did a couple years ago.

Yes. This error has nothing to do with firewalls or antivirus. Something has changed at the yahoo servers which prevents us from logging in properly. I have had this problem for about 2 or 3 days now. |

can't log in to Yinformer either. My problem just started today. I always change servers each time never log into the same server. It also has been giving false results upon testing.. Hopefully this problem will be taken care of soon. really enjoy this program a lot .. |

I havent kept up on the board like I use to cause my program had ran just fine for a year now. I am guessing John doesnt work on yinformer much anymore? the only reason why I am asking is cause I was looking around the board and havent seen too many post from him?? anywho if anyone can let me know whats going on it would be great?? as well as YInformer-simultaneously Yazak quit working. partial cure for Yazak problems is getting a new cookie or changing chat ports. |

Hmm. Then almost certainly Yahoo have changed the protocol for their login again. I know that happened about a year ago, and Pidgin which I used at the time could not login. So far I have no problem with Trillian though (the only other client I use beside Yahoo Messenger). I have been trying to find a new server to login on with Yinformer, but so far I have had no luck at all finding one that works. |

When I now started up Yinformer I was greeted by a message that said that they are aware of the login problems and are looking into this. So there is hope :) Just start/restart your yinformer to see the message. Or visit the main page for more information. |

Might be too early to see if it's working correctly, but mine is logging in now and scanning. |

Okay, I'm running 4.0.175 and in a quick testing it seems accurate for Yahoo Msgr, Yahoo Web Msgr, Yahoo Mobile (phone), but not for 3rd party programs running Yahoo. |
